I am writing to post a job opening for Spring of 2017.  We are a busy and growing dermatology practice (www.tareendermatology.com) in the Twin Cities looking to hire clinical assistants for 2017.  Ideally, we are looking for pre-medical students who are planning on taking 1-2 gap years prior to starting medical school or physician assistant school.

The position is an amazing opportunity which will serve any future healthcare professional well as they prepare for medical/PA school applications and a career in medicine.  The full-time position would involve assisting the physician/physician assistant with patient histories, assisting with office surgery, scribing via EMR, and helping with all other aspects of a clinical practice.   The clinical assistant functions much like a junior resident.

The hours are typically 8-5 pm, with no weekends or late evenings.  Salary is $15 an hour + benefits.  

Additionally, we also are very committed to helping and mentoring our employees as they pursue a career in medicine.   The vast majority of our previous gap year clinical assistants who applied to medical school were accepted (over 90% acceptance rate).   They are or will be attending the following medical schools:  Case Western Reserve University, University of Minnesota, Carver College of Medicine at the University of Iowa, Des Moines University, University of Chicago, Eastern Virginia Medical School, and Washington University in St. Louis.   We are very proud to have mentored these students and we have a number of clinical assistants currently interviewing for medical/PA school who will be accepted over the next several weeks/months.
