Eli Lilly and Company is looking for students interested in completing a short work assignment
within the Discovery Chemistry division. Do the following questions apply to you:

They are looking for motivated students for 12-week assignments beginning in May 2018 at their research laboratories in Indianapolis, IN. Research projects are available in the areas of organic,
analytical, or computational chemistry as well as biochemistry. In addition to the research
experience, students will gain a better understanding of the pharmaceutical industry and of Eli Lilly
and Company. Students will present a short oral presentation to summarize their work at an end
of summer symposium.
General requirements:
Currently enrolled in a BS/BA program related to chemistry/biochemistry.
Strong academic performance.
Strong skills in problem assessment/analysis, communication (written and oral), and teamwork.
Minimum GPA of 3.0
Chemistry Research requirements:
Basic lab experience including an understanding of organic or analytical lab techniques.
For synthesis positions, two semesters of organic chemistry lecture and one semester
of organic chemistry lab.
Biochemistry requirements:
Understanding of protein/enzyme activity, basic biology laboratory technique (buffer
prep, pH, etc) and pipetting skills.
Two semesters of biology lecture and one semester of biology/biochemistry lab.
Students are responsible for finding their own housing accommodations. Positions
are full time (40 hr/wk) and are compensated at $14.50/hr.
Along with a resume, please include a brief research summary if undergraduate research
has been conducted. Students are welcome to specify a preference for biochemistry or
