Are you looking for a research experience for next summer? If yes, then you should apply to participate in biomedical research at the Mayo Clinic to gain valuable skills related to basic science, critical thinking, teamwork, and other key areas to prepare you for a future as a PhD or MD-PhD research scientist.
This position is open to current undergraduate St. Olaf students who will be a junior or senior for the 2024-25 school year, who have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0 (4.0 scale), and who are seriously considering a biomedical research career as a PhD or MD-PhD. Domestic and international students who are attending St. Olaf College as full-time students are eligible to apply.
The Mayo Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship (SURF) program provides opportunities for current college students interested in expanding their research experience in a variety of specialized research areas. For this St. Olaf position, preference will be given to candidates interested in biochemistry or molecular biology, but students may apply for any of the following research areas: Biochemistry and Molecular Biology Biomedical Engineering and Physiology Clinical and Translation Sciences Immunology Molecular Pharmacology and Experimental Therapeutics Neuroscience Regenerative Sciences Virology
The program dates are May 28 - August 2, 2024, and the deadline for this position (which is reserved for a St. Olaf student) is Monday, November 27, 2023 (11:45pm Central time). There is a stipend of $6,000, and both domestic and international students who are attending St. Olaf College as full-time students are eligible to apply.
