2023 Undergraduate Summer Internship Program - Bristol Myers Squibb
The Process Chemistry group at Bristol Myers Squibb (BMS) is recruiting for our 2023 Undergraduate Summer Internship Program in New Brunswick, New Jersey between June 5th and August 11th, 2023. Our program focuses on providing a research experience for undergraduate students that highlights a career in the pharmaceutical industry for an organic chemist. This 10-week program will be hands on in the lab and will give students an introduction into our approach to research and provide opportunities to learn new techniques. Research projects are selected to be tangentially related to our active portfolio, thus enabling dissemination and publication of the student’s work, see below for some recent publications:- Wisniewski, S.R., Stevens, J.M., Yu, M., Fraunhoffer, K.J., Romero, E.O. Savage, S.A. J. Org. Chem. 2019, 84, 4704-4714 (link).
- Stevens, J.M., Parra-Rivera, A.C., Dixon, D.D., Beutner, G.L., DelMonte, A.J., Frantz, D.E., Janey, J.M., Paulson, J., Talley, M.R. J. Org. Chem. 2018, 83, 14245-14261 (link).
- Beutner, G.L., Hsiao, Y., Razler, T., Simmons, E.M., Wertjes, W. Org. Lett. 2017, 19, 1052-1055 (link).
The program is also collaborative and will include presentations from other departments at BMS (i.e. drug formulation, regulatory, and drug product development) to introduce students to the many different roles involved in the commercialization of new medicines. The program will conclude with an oral presentation of each student’s research at an internal research symposium. The internship is fully paid and will provide a relocation stipend, if applicable.
Please have any interested students provide us via email a CV and a one-page research summary, preferably with a ChemDraw scheme, by Monday October 31st 2022. The students must also apply to the following job posting on WorkDay for full consideration.
